The Geelong Honours Them project preserves the legacy of the men and women who served Australia in World War One. It involves digitising World War One Honour Boards from the region, enabling these important historic records to become accessible online to the wider community.
Geelong Honours Them aims to identify the whereabouts of hundreds of World War One Honour Boards geographically located across the four local government areas and capture the recorded war service and social history information these hold.
The project will spark an opportunity to share the social history and stories about the men and women named on World War One Honour Boards in our region, and preserve a unique local legacy for generations to come.
